'lost but found' (words that consoled me)

'Lost but found' reminded me of my days in boarding military highschool especially when I was a junior student. Few days before we vacated school, there were heaps of lost items ranging from housewears to sports wears to sneakers and even undies. So those of us who were still in our junior year and even senior students misplaced  items during the school terms. These items were eventually gathered somehow and brought to the volleyball court and items that had their names on them were easily identified and given to the owners who will of course 'collect' some lashes or some sorts of punishment before they were handed over to them, others will eventually take items that were refused to be identified with. People who misplaced their loved  items were happy when they were found and even if it meant receiving the punishment for their lost stuff, they didn't mind.  I likened all that situation, especially painful  situations to life's journey  . Some of us have lost people, children, spouses, parents, siblings, relatives  or relationships that made us happy and complete,  things that were worth envious of, lost peace of mind, lost love and friendship, lost money, lost purpose and also feel lost in  excruciating situations that you can't even find yourself again, constantly living in depression, anger and regrets.  For some, hope might be revived almost immediately,  others gradually begin to pickup the pieces of their lives, unfortunately too, some eventually give up. In all these, just like those lost items, you can find yourself again if you hold on and believe you can still find joy in the midst of the chaos going on in your life and I don't know how long it might take but perseverance is the only way out. Just like those lost items and how their owners received the penalty for misplacing them, endure the phase to get those things that will make you smile again. It might or not be your fault that things took a rough patch but  'don't' loose you never to find yourself again. Like they say, time heals!!  You might not get the love of your life back , that friend, parents or child back but you can get comfort and peace knowing  you created memories and while  thinking of these memories hurt deeply because they make you miss times spent, the secret is to give time a chance to partially or completely heal you so that when you reflect, you won't hurt as much .  No matter how long it takes to do that and as long as time passes by ,there will always be room for recovery. You might be lost in the chaos life has thrown at you now, however, give yourself a chance to find yourself again.
